Janie E. Johnson Janie Elizabeth Johnson of Asheville went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 10, 2009. A native of Orangeburg, SC she moved to Asheville, NC at a young age with her parents. She was a daughter of the late Superintendent C. W. and Savannah Williams Johnson Sr. She was educated in the Asheville school system and graduated from Allen High School. She spent her working career at Efrid's / Belk Department Stores Asheville. She was a faithful worker at Fruit of The Spirit, Church of God In Christ under the leadership of Pastor Darrell L. Sullivan, Sr. She served on the Mothers Board, Secretary of hospitality committee and Church greeter. She exemplified a special love for her family and friends. She was known for her jovial personality and her strong ability to serve as a positive influence to those she met. A Philanthropist, giver of wisdom, love, kindness and laughter, she will be greatly missed. She leaves a great legacy of love to her family, brothers, C. W. Johnson, Jr. (Elizabeth), Elder Hugh F. Johnson (Betty) , Elder David V. Johnson, (Gloria), sister, Mrs. Shirley J. Gragg all of Asheville, a brother Dr. Curtis E. Johnson, Sr. of Denver, CO, a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Isaiah Johnson and sisters, Virginia Wells, Nina Sullivan and Betty Wilson. Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Nazareth Fist Baptist Church, Dr. Charles R. Mosley Pastor. Elder Daniel O' Hannon, presiding and Elder Darrell L. Sullivan, Sr. Eulogist will officiate. Burial will be in Lewis Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to services and other times at the residence. Arrangements are under the direction of Hart Funeral Service.
