Howard Chester McGlohon departed this life Wednesday, February 10, 2010. A native of Ahoskie he was the son of Legolia Peele McGlohon of Ahoskie and the late Chester McGlohon.

Mr. McGlohon was a graduate of North Carolina Central University and NCCU Law School, a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity Inc., the Rotary Club, former Alcoholic Beverage Control Commissioner, Big Brothers, Big Sisters, the Defense Bar and former President of Ballantree Homeowners Association. Before starting his own law practice he worked at Broughton Hospital, defending the mentally challenged and served as an assistant district attorney in Buncombe County. He was a resident of Asheville for 28 years.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Attorney Martha Walker McGlohon; daughter, Madison McGlohon who is currently a freshman at NCCU, son, Traeton McGlohon who is currently a Junior at T. C. Roberson High School; sisters, Brenda Mitchell (Sharone, Sr.) of Chicago, IL and Cynthia Kennedy (Calvin Ray) of Charlotte; aunt, Frances Keith (Robert) of Winston Salem, Viola Soloman and Louise Revelle both of Ahoskie; cousin, Gladys Lister of Ahoskie; nieces, nephews, a host of loving cousins, other relatives and friends.

Memorial Services will be held Monday at 10 am in Nazareth First Baptist Church Dr. Charles R. Mosley Pastor. Rev. John Brewster will officiate.

Home going services will be held Wednesday at 11 am in New Ahoskie Baptist Church. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Ahoskie NC. Services will be under the direction of Reynolds Funeral Home 321 Maple St. N. Ahoskie NC 27910, 252 332-2337.
