Eleanor Armstar Kilgore of Brevard departed this life on Friday, February 26, 2010 at the Oaks Retirement Home. She was born April 23, 1920 in East Palatka, FL.. On April 16, 1936 she married the late Frank Kilgore.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Russell S. Kilgore, Rev. Robert F. Kilgore, James T. Kilgore, Sonya E. Kilgore and Pamela J. Kilgore Mahoney; grandchildren, Delana V. Kiett (Gregory), Terita R. Kilgore, Charles Robinson, Meighan Kilgore (Tedarrell), Mark F. Kilgore, Kenneth A. Fenwick (Janie), Gary Kilgore (Tonya), Carissa Kilgore Anderson, Darnita Kilgore Brooks (Dwayne) and Sheila Mays; 26 great-grandchildren, a great great grandchild; son in law, Paul Mahoney; daughters in law, Phyllis Benjamin Kilgore and Laura Gardin Kilgore; daughters of love and care, Helen Kilgore Rout and Barbara Ann Cash; sisters in law, Malissa Briley, Ella Mae Adams and Alma Armster; brothers in law, Thaddeus Kilgore, Gerald Briley, Jesse Beauford and Ralph Dallas, Sr.; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Services will be held Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 2 p.m. in Bethel Baptist Church where she was a member. Pastor Marshall Erwin will officiate, burial will be in Cooper Cemetery. The family will receive friends an hour prior to services.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Neighbors In Ministry Rise and Shine Freedom School, PO Box 1036 Brevard, NC 28712.
To all of the home care agencies, attendants and people in the community who so graciously provided their loving care for our mother over the years, we will be eternally grateful.
